This Privacy Policy explains how Calcy ("we", "us", "the site") handles information when you use calcy.in.

The short version

Calcy's calculators have no user accounts, no sign-up, and run entirely in your browser — we do not collect, store, or transmit the numbers, dates, or text you type into any calculator. The one exception is the optional email newsletter signup on our homepage, described below, which does store the email address you choose to submit. Everything else on this page covers technical details: cookies used by advertising, data your browser stores locally on your device, and the newsletter list.

Information we do not collect

You do not need to provide your name, email address, or any personal information to use any calculator on Calcy. Calculator inputs and results are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript and are never sent to our servers.

Newsletter signup

If you choose to submit your email address through the "Get new calculators in your inbox" form on our homepage, we store that email address in a database so we can occasionally send you an email about new calculators. We do not use this list for any other purpose, and we do not sell or share it with third parties. Submitting the form is entirely optional — it is not required to use any calculator.

We retain your email address until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link included in any email we send, or by visiting our unsubscribe page directly and entering your email address.

Local storage on your device

Calcy uses your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage to remember a small amount of information on your own device only, such as: your light/dark theme preference, calculators you've marked as favorites, your recently used calculators, and whether you've already seen the install-app prompt in this session. None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party — it stays on your device and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for calcy.in.

Cookies and advertising

Calcy uses Google AdSense to display advertising, and Google Analytics to understand site traffic. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to calcy.in and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Google Analytics collects standard, anonymized web analytics data such as pages visited, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and time spent on the site. This is used only in aggregate to understand how Calcy is used and to improve it.

Third-party links

Calcy may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Children's privacy

Calcy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, including through the newsletter signup. If you believe a child has provided us with an email address, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
